Have you heard about Paribus, yet?
Oh my gosh, I’m so excited I get to tell you about this app! If you shop online and aren’t sure you are getting the best prices, but you want to save money, this is the app you need. If you buy products online and don’t want to hunt down the best deal between several sites, you have to get in on this. Even if you’re like me and you’re SURE this app couldn’t possibly sniff out a better deal than you, you’re going to want to check this out.
I know I sound like an infomercial…
…but I’m surprised that this isn’t all over the internet yet! I promise, I’m not even an affiliate and they’re not compensating me in any way. This is just an app I love & use, and I think you could get some real value out of it–your own money back. You just sign up, link your accounts and the Paribus app will do the rest for you.
I got to work with their beta app last year and was really impressed at how simple this is! I can’t believe someone isn’t already shouting this from the rooftops! Okay. Okay. I’m trying not to hyperventilate.
Let me tell you how this works:
You sign up with Paribus and link your email account & a payment account (for your refunds). For stores that don’t itemize receipts, like Amazon.com, which only itemizes on its site, you can link your Amazon account with your name and password. Paribus scours your emails for purchase confirmations and receipts. Then it keeps track of any price fluctuations on those items at those stores.
You know Amazon changes prices all the time. You can see the price changes on a line graph next to the products it’s tracking (see the KitchenAid Casserole Dish down below). If the price drops, Paribus sends an email to the store on your behalf requesting that the difference be refunded to your account. (You get a copy of the email.) Do you think Customer Service is going to tell a confirmed customer, “No.”? No way! They know a customer who has purchased before will likely purchase again, and they want to keep you happy!
Okay, I know some of you are saying this is too easy, like it sounds too good to be true.
Okay, yeah. So, there are a couple of things you have to be okay with before Paribus can get your money for you:
1. The app obviously needs access to your email address and password. If you’ve ever been hacked before, I can definitely understand your hesitation. I’ve been with Paribus since May of 2015 without incident. You haven’t heard about any wild data breaches, either, have you?
2. The app takes a small commission of the money it finds you, currently 25%. BBBBBUUUUUT!! But wait! You were out 100% of that refund before and you didn’t even know, so getting 75% of your refund for zero effort sounds awesome to me.
Oh! Another thing.
Even if you ended up getting the best deal, Paribus can show you so you know it.
Check out the awesome deal I got on this cookware this past Christmas (below). See how the dots just keep climbing up?
A 6 quart Cast Iron KitchenAid Casserole dish (with lid that can be used for cooking, too) for $59.22 is now trending for waaay more than that! I like seeing that graph because it further reinforces how excellent my deal really was!
*SPECIAL DEAL TIME!* Paribus has a special offer right now: from now through June 30, 2016, they will reduce their commission for you by 5% for each new member you refer. Expired. I know you have five friends. I bet you have hundreds of friends in your face. Be the first to show them how to get their money back.
