So, you know how I like the phrase, “Every Dollar Goes to Work.” In the next few months, I want to talk about some ways to make a little extra money that you can use to put toward getting out of debt. Today I’m going to talk about an old favorite savings app, Swagbucks.com. This is not an affiliate post and I’m not trying to sell you anything. If you join Swagbucks from my link then I would get a few Swagbucks for the referral.
I’ve been a member of Swagbucks since 2009. You can make some money with Swagbucks.com…maybe not enough to pay your mortgage, but enough to, say, buy some Amazon gift cards to make the sting of Christmas shopping a little easier. Or how about, you can use the Amazon gift card to buy something you would have bought anyway (diapers and toilet paper, anyone?). Then use the cash you would have spent on those items toward paying down your debt.
Here’s how it works:
I’m not big on signing up for a lot of stuff that’s going to spam my account, but I do shop online so I appreciate a legit kickback. I also don’t usually do surveys, but if I’m waiting on someone or something, it’s a way to use my time toward earning a reward, rather than playing games on the internet. They even tell you how long the survey will take, so you can make sure you have time to finish.
A Sample Deal:
So, this month, May 2016, they have this offer for trash bags. You use those, don’t you? Buy two boxes of Hefty bags in the store, then send a picture of your 2 boxes plus receipt to Swagbucks. They’ll make sure you get a $10 Wal-Mart e-gift card! Sweet! Sometimes Ibotta runs a rebate on this brand, too. Hefty puts out coupons all the time, so you could stack your discount. This could make for a pretty spectacular deal for stuff you need that you were buying anyway. Expired. *Update* Looks like they’re doing the deal again for June.
I digress for a second
There’s also a sweet deal for Proflowers.com that will earn you 1,000 points if you make a purchase. Now, I’m already a big ProFlowers.com fan. I’ve sent Mother’s Day Flowers, Sympathy Flowers, Birthday Flowers, and Christmas Centerpieces for years. You can schedule the day you want the flowers to be delivered so you can make sure someone will be home to receive them. The flowers are shipped in bud form and bloom for the recipient. They usually stay beautiful for two weeks, sometimes three, if you pick out the puny ones.
I did receive one dud bunch once (that I ironically had sent to myself). I simply emailed them and they made a full replacement immediately. Their customer service is so great! So, now that I’ve given a shout out to Proflowers.com, back to Swagbucks. You’ll get 1,000 SB for purchasing, which equates to a ten dollar reward. (100 SB = $1.00) Pretty sweet!
As a special bonus for you, if you earn 300 points before May 31st, 2016, you’ll get a bonus 300 points deposited in your account the following month! (that’s enough for two $3 gift cards!) Full disclosure here, I will receive a few bonus SB if you do that. Expired May 31, 2016.
Now, go make some SB, turn it into gift cards and Put Every Dollar to Work!
Regards,
Erica
